All in the process of translating the various ways that we know cotton. Knowing Cotton Otherwise rested on pillars of collectivity and community building. Approaching cotton from a perspective that merges its twisted (hi)stories and innovative future-stories. Knowing Cotton Otherwise, has come to be through an immersive and collaborative process between the curatorial team and the various artists, designers, innovators and collectives in Amsterdam and beyond. Together, we have crafted an exhibition that invites you to play, to puzzle, to wonder, to reflect. To move towards a point where we come upon the complex intersection of sustainability, political histories, and socio-economic barriers within all the conversations that cotton triggers.
